Today is the day I launch She Lives She Travels!

Today I launch the blog I’ve wanted to for years and it’s a proud moment! And what better day for a launch than Self Care Sunday since my writing will focus on how you care for yourself; your living space, your mind and body, your joys, your goals and struggles. My writing will emphasize the importance of taking the time for your own well-being so that you can be the best version of yourself for yourself, for your family and for your career. Life is hectic, it’s unpredictable and sometimes it’s hard and unfair. But it’s also beautiful, it’s exciting and it’s constantly changing prompting us to continuously grow.

The topics I will cover are a good balance to all aspects of our lives:

Travel

Learning to feel comfortable exploring our planet challenges you to new situations, revives self confidence and enhances curiosity. Traveling connects us to places and people that otherwise wouldn’t be part of our narrative. This section will offer guidance on things to do and see in places you might not have thought about visiting. A huge personal inspiration for the launch of this blog is due to my decision to quit my job and travel the world. It was a personal goal that I didn’t think I could ever make possible, but then I did (and I’ll talk a bit about how I made it happen!) Part of my love of travel is exploring the Lesser Known – lesser known destinations, activities, cultures and especially lesser known neighborhoods in big cities. My writing will cover places fit for solo, companion and romantic travel.

Home

Making your living space somewhere you want to be is one of the most important things you can do for yourself. And, more importantly, it doesn’t need to cost a lot – you just need to develop an eye for it and allow yourself to be creative! In this section, I offer tips on how to create a living space that inspires you. I will focus on cleanliness, organization, minimalism, comfort and style. I’ve drawn inspiration from all over the world for this section, and as much as I’ve loved traveling long term I long for one place to call home again.

Beauty

I’ve never been big on makeup but I’ve always been big on healthy skin. This section will focus on the importance of physically caring for and pampering yourself. I’ll offer guidance on how to create a relaxing environment, how to rejuvenate your body from head to toe and recommend my favorite products. I promise you’ll learn how to create the best bubble of your life! Slowly you’ll find yourself wonder, “is it Sunday yet?”

Self

Think of this as the “Beauty On The Inside” section. When people say, “wow you’re glowing!” it’s not only because of that new face lotion, but because your soul feels alive. Your skin, teeth, hair and nails can look and feel great, but if you don’t feel great on the inside then it’s important to focus on that. This section will offer inspiration and encouragement and emphasize creating a healthy relationship with yourself. I will write about many parts of life – including happiness, self confidence, spirituality, relationships, body, love and struggles. We all have our ups and downs but my goal is to focus on tangible ways for you to reconnect with yourself and offer ideas for personal growth

Food + Drink

I love food and wine and coffee. My focus will be on primarily vegetarian and vegan foods that I want to highlight from my travels, that I’ve cooked or that I simply love. Nourishing your body, nourishes the soul. I also personally love making meals for the people I love, and beyond recipes, this section will also focus on the culture of dining – something I’m very passionate about. Anyone can learn to prepare a nice meal, but learning how to create an enjoyable dining experience whether it’s just for yourself, your friends or your family will forever change your relationship with mealtime. Take it from someone who is regularly the last person at a restaurant.
